Tourism Ecuador: Humpback whales
These mammals (jorobadas in spanish) bend their backs to shoot out of the water and fall back with an awesome splash, so they are called “humpback whales”. This happens as part of a ritual in times of mating and reproduction off the coast of Manabi Ecuador, specifically in the warm waters between Puerto Lopez and “Isla de la Plata”, known as “whale sanctuary” area.
Montecristi is the commercial centre of Panama hats. People here work at finishing and selling hats and offer different souvenirs made with straw, vegetable ivory and ceramics.
